Hi, my name is Aurelien! I’m a flight attendant on a mission to discover the most delicious gluten free gems across the world. Armed with a suitcase full of snacks (because you never know) I started this go to guide for all things gluten free and gourmet. It is a simple and organized list that will bring you closer to the best brunches, perfect pastries and all your fried favorites. Buckle up, because at Radish on the rocks we don’t let a pesky protein ruin the fun!
About the name
One evening in Belgrade I was out for dinner with my colleagues. I did the usual allergy chat with the waiter, and then my starter arrived. It was... drumroll please... one lonely radish, cut into four tiny pieces, on a bed of crushed ice! I couldn’t decide whether to laugh or cry. I felt misunderstood, angry and famished, and my colleagues told me to be grateful they had even tried. Really?
From that day on, I decided to live by my new motto and “Never settle for a salad” — or even worse, a radish on the rocks!
Fast forward a few months, this blog was born. Now I’m roaming the planet hunting down restaurants that don’t just tolerate our dietary needs but actually get them. I’m talking about restaurants where the chefs know gluten free isn’t just a trend but a way of life. I hope this blog inspires you to go on adventures and empowers you to feel confident no matter how many times someone tells you to just “RêLax and Gō wìTh tHé FlôW”.
